Nameless, around and wound,
And philanthropy came to city streets
To the music, a sacred sound
Of forgetting the will in untrained heat
On the bridge of the city streets.
A second, allied to scream, and a sign
Of clay hearts, wide and evil
It breathes like a savage breathes,
Kicks like a madman in medieval
Dreams on the city streets.
Winter is bound and chained
To realise old strengths and uses
It melts at the close of day
When two poles meet and visions fuse,
Faults of the civilised heat.
